Weekend of Art Workshops in Woodlawn’s Sleigh Barn on June 28 and 29.
Ellsworth – On Friday, June 28 from 10am – 4pm, veteran instructor Judith Hotchkiss will teach Traditional and Punch Rug Hooking for Beginners. In this one day introductory workshop, students will make a 9″ hooked piece with a coastal design that can be used as a trivet, wall hanging or pillow. A kit is provided with all materials needed to complete the project. The cost is $125 for Woodlawn members and $135 for non-members.
Amanda Coburn will then teach Metal Jewelry for Beginners on Saturday, June 29 from 9:30am-12:30pm. Students will be introduced to the basics of creating metal jewelry using brass and copper. In this hands-on workshop, students will learn to hammer, texture, bend, rivet, anneal, polish, and more. Amanda has taught private metalsmithing lessons in her home studio and artisan workshops for several years. The cost is $50 for Woodlawn members and $60 for non-members.
