Water Street Parking Lot Ribbon Cutting Celebration
Outlined area shows recently revitalized parking lot on Water Street
Ellsworth – The City of Ellsworth in cooperation with Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce and Heart of Ellsworth is holding a parking lot ribbon cutting ceremony on August 2nd, 2018.
This past May construction began on the Water Street parking lot in downtown Ellsworth. The pavement was removed, gravel replaced, and new storm drainage pipes were installed. Dugas Construction completed the contract work for the City of Ellsworth. Surrounding building and business owners were instrumental in the process and project’s success.
In addition to striping and improvements to traffic flow and parking spaces, the City of Ellsworth took the opportunity to improve pedestrian pathways by installing pavement, gravel, lighting, and greenscaping in the Main Street alleyway between Bud Connection and Frank Pierson Optician. Hostas were planted this past week by community volunteers making the path more inviting to downtown pedestrians.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on August 2nd at 1:00 pm on Water Street. Area business owners will be present; remarks by City Council Chairman Mark Blanchette and long time business owner Ruth Foster. Light refreshments will be provided by Flexit Cafe and Bakery and served by Heart of Ellsworth. This event is free and open to the public.
