Special Feature: New Volunteer Screener—be the person who provides the first deep connection with prospective Red Cross volunteers!

Once a prospective volunteer completes the online application successfully, you jump into action!  As a Screening Team member, you’ll reach out to volunteer candidates to invite them to speak with you on the phone.

When you make the connection to talk you will be in a most important position engaging the applicant, creating a positive experience and learning what brought the prospective volunteers to the Red Cross. You will help identify the candidate’s interests and skills.

You will then use your understanding of a candidate to match the needs of the organization with those in line with the interests and nature of the applicant.

In a nut shell, you will be scheduling and conducting screening interviews and, with plenty of training and support, you’ll also be referring volunteer applicants to an appropriate line of service in our on-line system.  Enjoy interacting with people on the phone, appreciate learning about the American Red Cross | Maine Region’s position needs; relish making a positive impression on others?  This role’s for you!
