Administrative Support/Front Office Receptionist

Weekday shifts of 4 – 6 hours/day or more! (At a Red Cross Office in Portland, Topsham, Lewiston, Bangor or Caribou)


As the first point of contact and primary customer service representative for the Red Cross Office you serve by exercising your positive attitude and providing a great welcoming presence.  You will have the ability to be accurate and informative, a cheerful and outgoing personality along with enjoying working with people.  In this role you will greeting visitors, answer the telephones, handle the incoming mail and other duties assigned by the most appreciative team you’re ever likely to meet. Blood Donor Ambassador

5 hours (approximately one shift) per month (at blood drives in your area or state-wide)

In this role you provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience.  Engaging with blood donors you promote blood donation and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations.  Duties include: welcoming and greeting donors when they arrive for their donation and/or providing them with snacks and conversation after their donation – all while creating a favorable impression of the Red Cross and the blood donation process and sharing the Red Cross story.  Check out this Blood Ambassador Video:


Disaster Action Team Members

 Mutually agreed upon shift/s per month (in your area; state-wide)

Red Cross Disaster Action Teams (DATs), are made up of local, dedicated volunteers, prepared to offer assistance during a local time of need and respond to possibly the toughest times individuals or families may face. Day and night, 365 days a year, they turn tragedy into hope in the case of home fires, storms or floods. They stand at the ready to be called into service! DAT Video:

Service to the Armed Forces (SAF): Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) Volunteer

Time commitment: Mondays & Tuesdays—one or more mornings/week starting at 7am and completed by 9am

You are needed to liaise with the MEPS staff to determine the best means for the Red Cross to connect with the recruits and families. Your role is to provide Red Cross preparedness information to the recruits and their families and engage with the recruits to fill out family contact cards and ensure cards are processed.


Service to the Armed Forces (SAF): Caseworker

Time Commitment: 5 hours/week

Your important service is to provide casework support concerning resources and referrals to service members and their families by phone and computer.  You will assure the quality of service we provide to service members and the ones they love is professional and personable.
