Winter Harbor – The twentieth Annual Schoodic Scramble charity golf event will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Grindstone Neck Golf Course in Winter Harbor. Golfers will play 18 holes with either a morning or afternoon tee time. Golfers will enjoy 18 holes of golf, continental breakfast, lobster stew, ice cream sundaes, wine, cheese, tournament hat, hole-in-one opportunity as well as prizes for men’s, ladies, and couples flights.
Proceeds from the Schoodic Scramble benefit the Eleanor Widener Dixon Memorial Clinic in Gouldsboro, a family practice clinic of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Funds raised this year will be used to refurbish patient exam rooms. Since 1997, over $220,000 in proceeds has been raised for facility improvements and medical equipment to further advance quality patient care.
Presenting sponsors of the Schoodic Scramble are Edith Dixon and Vicki & Alan Goldstein, with featured sponsors from Darling’s Auto Mall, The Nathaniel Reed Family, Sorrento Dental Associates, the First National Bank, Winter Harbor Food Service, Rooster Brother, Kelco Industries, Dahl-Chase Pathology Associates, Merrill Furniture, Garbo Lobster, and Stanley Scooters.
Built in 1891, Grindstone Neck is one of the 100 oldest golf courses in the nation. Grindstone Neck Association has donated the use of the golf course for this valuable fundraiser for the clinic for twenty years.
Everyone is invited to attend and participate in the silent auction at the Scramble. To become an event sponsor, for further information about volunteering, or to be added to the golfer wait-list, call the MCMH Foundation Office at 664-5548 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
