Transforming Loss, Finding Potential for Growth
Ellsworth- Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County is hosting its annual Hospice Foundation of America conference this Friday, May 18, from 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Faith Community Fellowship church located on the Ellsworth/Trenton line. This year’s topic is Transforming Loss, Finding Potential for Growth, and will feature national experts in a recorded panel presentation as well as a local panel of service providers speaking from personal and local perspectives. The registration fee for Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County volunteers is $15, with other community members’ fee is $20, and includes lunch. Professional CEUs available through the Hospice Foundation of America for an additional fee. Call 667-2531 to register.

Transforming Loss: Finding Potential for Growth is an inspirational program about positive change and action by the bereaved in the aftermath of loss. The program is appropriate for all professionals working in hospice and palliative care, counselors, clergy, funeral professionals, and any professional whose practice involves the bereaved. The program will offer clinicians tools to support and encourage transformative growth in grieving clients and will supply self-help advice for caregivers and the bereaved.
