Theatre at Monmouth Brings “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” To The Grand
ELLSWORTH- The classic, comedic, fantastic Shakespeare story of love, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” will be presented by Theatre at Monmouth at The Grand for one night only: Wednesday, October 25th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for youth (12 & under).
The mission of Theater at Monmouth is to present innovative approaches to Shakespeare and other classic plays through professional productions that enrich the lives of people throughout the state of Maine. In its 46 seasons, TAM has presented more than 320 productions in its three-month Summer Repertory Season, including 26 world premieres, entertaining audiences from 36 states and through Education Tours in the fall and spring annually reaching more than 15,000 students. And now they bring Shakespeare’s most magical play, directed and adapted by Kent Burnham, to The Grand as part of its commitment to live theater in the DownEast area.
Magic, laughter, and love are on the loose in the woods outside Athens in Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy! The fairy king and queen are at war, Court and Commoners alike prepare for Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding, and Puck stirs the pot leading two pairs of lovers on a wild and wacky chase in search of true romance. Bring a friend and share the experience of a night in a magical forest as The Grand continues its almost 80 year-plus tradition of bringing the performing arts to downtown Ellsworth.
