The Criterion Presents Exhibition On Screen: Cézanne, Portraits of a Life
Bar Harbor —Art documentary master-series Exhibition On Screen comes to the Criterion with Cézanne, Portraits of a Life on Sunday, April 15th at 7 p.m., sponsored by Artwaves community art center.
Featuring interviews with curators and experts from the National Portrait Gallery London, MoMA New York, National Gallery of Art Washington, and Musée d’Orsay Paris, and correspondence from the artist himself, the film takes audiences beyond the exhibition to the places Cézanne lived and worked and sheds light on an artist who is perhaps the least known of all the impressionists – until now.
There will be a “gallery reception” beginning at 5:30 p.m. the day of the show with champagne and refreshments. Tickets are on sale now for $8 at criteriontheatre.org and the event is general admission. Be sure to check the Artwaves event calendar as well for related workshops and events.
The 1932 Criterion Theatre is Bar Harbor’s non-profit historic performing arts and movie house. For a full schedule of live events, please visit criteriontheatre.org.
