Physical Therapist Charlotte Stephens shares her expertise

Ellsworth—Life on the coast of Maine brings many benefits. Nestled in the nooks and crannies throughout Washington and Hancock counties are many professionally trained and talented folks who are willing to share their useful skills to help their friends and neighbors.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 11 am till 12 pm, one of these special people, Charlotte Stephens, Physical Therapist and Oncology Rehab Specialist will present a discussion on the benefits of exercise for cancer patients. She will focus on physical recovery and discuss the benefits of an evaluation by an oncology rehab specialist who can tailor an exercise plan to suit the needs and situation of the individual.

Stephens will explain cardiovascular health, the use of RPE (rate of perceived exertion) for self-monitoring intensity of exercise, the benefit of movement/stretching, the role of cardiac rehab in certain instances, and the place of community-based exercise programs.

Charlotte currently sees patients at Northern Light Maine Coast Oncology Rehab in Ellsworth.

This free presentation will be held at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center at 23 Commerce Park in Ellsworth and is open to all. If you would like to attend please call the Center at 207-664-0339 or register online at and click on The Benefits of Exercise slide.
