Teach Tai Chi: Instructor Training Planned for September
Ellsworth. On September 21-22, 2019, Healthy Acadia will host a 2-day “Tai Chi for Heart Conditions” instructor training with “Tai Chi for Health” Master Trainer Patricia Larson, at the Moore Community Center, 133 State Street, Ellsworth. The class will meet from 8:30am to 4:30pm each day. “Tai Chi for Heart Conditions” instructor training is designed for current tai chi instructors, advanced tai chi students, physical therapists, occupational therapists, exercise instructors, and professionals seeking a continuing education experience.
“Tai Chi for Heart Conditions” (TCH) is an evidence-based program that, with regular practice, improves many health conditions. Dr. Lam’s team has incorporated medical research and traditional Chinese medicine to create his empowering, “Tai Chi for Health” program series. The sequence of movements in TCH can prevent or improve most heart conditions, and be used to manage pain, increase balance, strength, flexibility, immunity, and relaxation. Participants who successfully complete the course will be accredited by the “Tai Chi for Health” Institute to teach this program. TCH is approved for 13 credits from the American College of Sports Medicine and other licensing agencies. Call Patricia at 772-260-3365 for CEU information.
Tuition cost is $230 per participant. Current “Tai Chi for Health” Community (TCHC) members will receive a 10% tuition discount on the workshop – the discount does not apply to certification updates or CEUs. Water and simple snacks will be provided at break times. Please bring your own lunches, or contact Nina for Flexit Cafe group ordering or other restaurant information.
