Tai Chi for Health Classes Set to Begin in Brooksville, and Stonington
Brooksville – Healthy Acadia is thrilled to announce that three, eight-week “Tai Chi for Health” courses will be held in Brooksville and Stonington this spring. While classes are free, a donation is suggested. Class times and locations are as follows:
Brooksville Public Library. Thursday, March 15 through May 3, 2018 4:45pm – 5:45 pm.
Island Nursing Home, Stonington: Wednesdays, March 14 through May 2 , 2018. Tai Chi for Beginners: 10:30am – 11:15am. Seated Tai Chi: 11:15am – 12:15pm.
While traditional tai chi is a martial art, the “Tai Chi for Health” programs developed by Dr. Paul Lam are adapted and designed to provide safe and accessible ways to achieve the health benefits of tai chi practice for people with various health conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and chronic pain; and can help to reduce stress and improve balance. “Tai Chi for Health” is also extremely enjoyable and a wonderful group experience.
Certified instructor Mia Kanazawa is dedicated to sharing the delights and benefits of tai chi with people of all ages – from Brooksville Elementary school students, to GSA students, to Community and Nursing home residents.
