Surry Arts at the Barn Features Jazz and Classical Weekend

SURRY(June 8, 2017)–Surry Arts at the Barn (SATB) will highlight jazz and
classical music this weekend. The Night and Day Jazz Trio will perform at 7 p.m.
Friday, June 23. Comprised of Steve Orlofsky, award-winning music teacher at George
Stevens Academy, on sax and flute;Chris Poulin, on guitar, and Joel Mann, WERU-FM
program director, on bass; the group has been performing together for over a decade.
The New Scott Cleveland Trio will play at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 24. The jazz group,
which features Cleveland,on piano and providing vocals; Phil Kell on electric bass and
Bobby Duron, on drums, plays Cleveland’s original songs as well as reinterprets the music
of Van Morrison, Allen Touissaint, Elvic Costello and Boz Scaggs.
At 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, The Silver Duo, will bring classical music to the Barn.
University of Maine professors Phillip and Noreen Silver will perform works for piano
and cello. They are recognized internationally for their chamber music concerts.
Tickets are $15 for each performance and can be purchased at the door or online at
SATB’s website surryartsatthebarn.com.
SATB is a performing arts center located in a 100-year old barn at 8 Cross Road in Surry.
It showcases culturally diverse entertainment. Refreshments are available.
