Starboard Leadership Consulting Announces A New Hire
Starboard Leadership Consulting, an affiliate of the law firm of Rudman Winchell, has announced the appointment of Mary Aselton Budd as managing director. Budd will join the president and founder Jeff Wahlstrom in managing the seven-member firm and in leading Starboard’s organizational development work in Maine.
Budd, a resident of Bangor, consulted primarily in the education reform space for eight years prior to joining Penobscot Theatre Company as the nonprofit’s executive director. During her seven-year tenure at the theatre’s helm, Budd developed and implemented an ambitious strategic plan that resulted in financial stabilization, programmatic expansion, audience development, and many capital improvements.
“Mary’s experience as a consultant, as a volunteer leader, and in running a small non-profit gives her a great base of knowledge as she joins Starboard,” said Wahlstrom. “That kind of experience, as well as her first-hand knowledge of Maine’s rural communities, will be of tremendous benefit to our for-profit and nonprofit clients throughout Maine.”
As Managing Partner, Budd will work with Starboard’s Maine clients seeking consulting support for strategic planning, board governance, leadership transitions, and team development.
“I am excited about joining Jeff Wahlstrom and the outstanding team at Starboard Leadership Consulting,” said Budd. “With proven tools and an unwavering focus on results, the firm has established itself as a uniquely effective partner for Maine businesses and nonprofits. I look forward to continuing to grow and to serve Starboard’s diverse client roster.”
