Ellsworth, Maine – Spring may have officially arrived on Monday but, for many folks downeast, the real arrival takes place the day that Jordan’s Snack Bar opens for the season! Jordan’s will open at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22nd, with all the favorites that customers have been coming back for year after year! Fried clams, onion rings, lobster and crab rolls, and the Big Jim burger will be served up by the thousands this summer to both locals and tourists who make Jordan’s a “must stop” on their trip to Maine. As the weather warms, the ice cream cones, sundaes and shakes will flow, with made-in-Maine Gifford’s ice cream always in high demand!
Owner, Shawn Jordan, along with his mother and co-founder, Carol Jordan, and his son Andrew, are looking forward to warmer temps and a parking lot full of hungry people eager to satisfy cravings for Jordan’s delicious food that have been nagging them all winter! “We’re hoping we plowed the parking lot for the last time this past week and remind people that we do have inside seating until things warm up. This will be our 36th year and we’re so grateful to the locals and summer visitors for their continued support!”
Jordan’s welcomes all ages with a comfortable indoor dining room for days when the weather is too cool or too hot. Picnic tables and a playground for entertaining the kids are always popular on warm days. There’s a game room with the latest arcade games and pool tables, and the “Gazebo” will welcome live bands each Wednesday evening starting in late May. Shawn’s father, Jimmy Jordan, always believed in giving back to the community that had supported him so well, and started the Wednesday “Cruise-Ins” to show his appreciation. Hundreds of people pour in each week to enjoy the music, dance, check out the antique autos on display, have “suppah” and mingle with friends.
Jordan’s Snack Bar…a summertime downeast tradition…now open for the season!
