Special Events Daily at the Ellsworth Antiques Show, August 16-18
The Longest Running Summer Antiques Show in the Nation
Ellsworth – Several exciting events are included in the price of admission at Woodlawn’s Ellsworth Antiques Show, August 16-18. Lectures, book signings, live music, beer tastings and adorable pets looking for forever homes will all be available for show-goers to enjoy. All events will take place on Woodlawn’s beautiful grounds.
On Thursday, August 16 at 11 a.m. architectural photographer, Walter Smalling, Jr., will speak about his experience as a preservationist photographer. Smalling will also have his books available for purchase and signing. Complimentary coffee and scones will be served. Later that same day from 3 to 6 p.m. the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will perform under the tent with complimentary wine and appetizers.
With the show well underway, events on Friday, August 17 kick off at 11 a.m. with award-winning architect and author Gil Schafer III sharing the inner workings of his distinctive approach to design. Schafer’s books will also be available for purchase and signing. Complimentary coffee and scones will be served. Then from 3 to 6 p.m. musicians from the Acadia School of Traditional Music & Arts will play lively Celtic tunes along with a tasting of locally brewed beers by Airline Brewing Company, from Amherst, Maine.
Show-goers are in for a treat on Saturday, August 18 at the SPCA of Hancock County adoption event being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pets looking for forever homes will be onsite and patrons who bring a bag or cans of pet food for the SPCA will receive 50% off show admission.
The Ellsworth Antiques Show at Woodlawn is open on Thursday, August 16 and Friday, August 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, August 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the Show and museum is $15 or $10 for the Show only. A luncheon café, catered by Chipper’s Restaurant is open daily offering seasonal and regional favorites, including lobster rolls. Wine and beer are also available for purchase.
Proceeds from the Ellsworth Antiques Show benefit the Woodlawn School Program which allows area school children to participate, free of charge and even provides transportation if needed. Since 2006, the Ellsworth Antiques Show has raised over $150,000 for Woodlawn’s Educational Fund.

Woodlawn is an educational, cultural, and recreational treasure for the people of Downeast Maine. The main house is open for tours May 1 – October 31 and December 1-23.
