Screening of Documentary Film, Lost in Woonsocket Set for July 10 in Ellsworth
Ellsworth – Healthy Acadia and Your Place Recovery Center, Inc. will host a community screening of the documentary film, Lost in Woonsocket, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth.
Lost in Woonsocket, a documentary film directed by John Chester, follows Chester and Andre Miller, co-creators of the A&E Network documentary series Random 1, as they attempt to help Mark and Normand, two homeless persons from Woonsocket, Rhode Island who struggling with alcoholism, begin their recovery journey.
When the Random 1 series is cancelled, Normand’s children contact Chester and Miller, and persuade them to continue following his journey. Lost in Woonsocket is a candid exploration how media coverage can impact lives, and how the best intentions may not always produce the desired results.
Doors will open at 5:00pm and the film (approx. 80-minute run time) will begin at 5:30pm, followed by a Q & A session featuring a very special guest. A $10 suggested donation at the door will benefit Your Place Recovery Center, Inc. and Healthy Acadia’s Recovery Supports Fund in Hancock County. Light refreshments will be served, and a raffle will be held with proceeds benefit the Hancock County Recovery Resource Fund.
