Registration Now Open for 8th Annual Santa 5K Run/Walk Race
Ellsworth—It’s time to get ready for the 8th Annual Santa 5K Run/Walk, the areas official kick-off events to the holiday season. This family-friendly, fun-filled festive 5K Run/Walk will take place at the Ellsworth Elementary Middle School at 20 Forrest Avenue in Ellsworth. Participants are encouraged to embrace the season and dress up in their choice of a winter or holiday costume take part in the 5K Run/Walk Race.
Although the race is free to the public, organizers will gladly accept donations, since it is the season of giving. Race participants can also collect pledges, but it is not a requirement. Awards will be given for the best male and female overall costume. A prize will be given for the person who collects the most pledges. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth to support them in their efforts to help area residents that have been affected by cancer. Door prizes will also be given.
The Santa Run/Walk will take place on Sunday, December 1, 2019. Pre-registration will take place from 8:00 am until 9:45 am with the race beginning at 10:00 am. After the race participants will enjoy hot cocoa and sugar cookies.
