Opioid Overdose Reversal, Naloxone Administration Training Offered

Ellsworth –  Healthy Acadia, Health Equity Alliance, and UMA Ellsworth Center Student Association, and will offer a free Naloxone Overdose Reversal Training on Tuesday, March 5,

2019, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, at the UMA Ellsworth Center, Mill Mall, 248 State St., Suite 1, Ellsworth. Participants will learn how to identify and respond to an opioid overdose and how to administer the medication, Naloxone, which temporarily reverses an opioid overdose. Attendees will also gain new tools and learn about community resources available to assist people in all stages of addiction and recovery. Free take-home Naloxone kits will be available to participants upon completion of the session.

This training is recommended for those who are likely to experience or witness an opioid overdose, including those who work or live with people at risk of overdosing.
