Opener Announced for Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters at The Criterion
Bar Harbor—On Friday, August 3rd, the 1932 Criterion Theatre will present country rock/rockabilly band Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters, with opener Dylan Walshe!
Founded in 2007, The Boxmasters have toured across the United States with their unmistakable brand of rockabilly infused with the sound of groups like The Beatles and The Byrds. Fronting the band, Billy Bob Thornton brings a rock ‘n roll attitude and a serious ear for his music.
This three-piece powerhouse will be touring their new album Speck. “Lyrically it deals with everything from personal relationships to politics, social issues. The theme being that we are all specks in this universe trying to navigate it, during trying times in the world we still have our own loves, desires, problems and dreams as individuals,” says Thornton. “We’re just little humans. No matter what our standing is in society.”
Opening the night is Irish singer-songwriter Dylan Walshe: a growing name on the international circuit. Armed with his own blend of Celtic folk blues originals, he also sings traditional songs of the working classes & reinterprets a wide spectrum of music in his own inimitable style.
Seats in the Balcony and Front Center Orchestra sections are $60.50; Premium Orchestra seats are $50.50 and General Orchestra seats are $35.50. Tickets will go on sale for members on 3/27 and for the general public on 3/28 at criteriontheatre.org.
