Northern Light Maine Coast and Blue Hill Hospitals Recognize Emergency Responders

Ellsworth- Northern Light Maine Coast and Blue Hill Hospitals, with the support of Machias Savings Bank, hosted local emergency responders from for an Emergency Responders Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 5:30 pm in the Ellsworth hospital cafeteria.
The hospitals look forward to taking the time to thank the men and women who are frequently the first people to see our patients in their greatest time of need, a tradition that Maine Coast, now along with Blue Hill Hospital, is proud to continue. “Machias Savings Bank truly appreciated the opportunity to once again support this year’s Maine Coast Hospital and Blue Hill Hospital First Responder’s Appreciation Dinner. We thank the dedicated people who serve in these essential roles, for the sacrifices they make, and everything they do for our communities,” shares Joshua Stevens, Machias Savings Bank Ellsworth Branch Manager.
Maine Coast and Blue Hill Hospitals are glad to honor a local responder/ team of responders each year for “Outstanding Emergency Call of the Year” based on nominations received from the community. This year’s recipient was Southwest Harbor Fire Department (along with the assistance of other firefighters and agencies including: Tremont FD, Mount Desert Ambulance, Warden Services, MDI SAR, ANP, Mount Desert FD, SW Harbor RD, SW Harbor/ and Tremont Amb) for responding to a dangerous icy snowmobile event in and around Long Pond. As the nomination stated: “The rescuers all went home safely. This was a tremendous effort by many different agencies who all worked together to make the outcome be a positive one.”
