New Prostate Cancer Survivor Support Group Begins in August

Ellsworth—A new prostate cancer support group is being offered and will start on Friday, August 23 at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. The monthly group is open to men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, survivors, their spouses, partner or caregiver.

The group’s focus is to provide support as participants move through the healing process with others who have experienced similar challenges and will provide a community where participants can share the struggles and successes experienced since being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The groups aim is to provide a healing and open environment for all participants.

The group will be facilitated by Cadie Saucier, DPT, from Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital. Cadie works as a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic rehab and recovery for men, women and children.

The group is offered free of charge and will take place every forth Friday of the month from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Each session will be held at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center at 23 Commerce Park in Ellsworth. You can register online at by clicking on the Prostate Cancer Support Group slide, or you can call the Center at 207-664-0339.
