Music to fill the former JB Atlantic Building at the Main Street Beer and Boogie on October 12
ELLSWORTH – On October 12, music will fill the former JB Atlantic Building at the Main Street Beer & Boogie. The 21+ event is in celebration of the Art of Ellsworth: Maine Craft Weekend and will raise funds for the Heart of Ellsworth.
The event will feature live music by area musicians, Fremont Street String Band, and special guest, Gus La Casse. According to the Tides Institute in Eastport, Maine, The Fremont String Band is “…a foot-stomping, fresh-take on the bluegrass and folk of yesteryear. The all-string band merges a variety of rock, punk, country, and traditional influences to produce a big sound you can’t help but dance too…a sound they call ‘Yankee-bluegrass’. Fremont Street String Band’s eclectic mix of unmistakable covers with Downeast inspired original ballads won’t leave you disappointed.”
Described as a folk fiddler with both speed and savage energy, Gus La Casse’s repertoire reflects his innovative spirit and dedication to the Cape Breton and Acadian fiddle traditions, playing both standards of the genre and his original material.
The event also features a beer tasting by Fogtown Brewing Company, served in a commemorative take-home taster glass, and Flexit Cafe will offer food for purchase. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older. ID will be required.
