40 hours per week

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM


The Practice Manager is responsible for daily operations of the practice, hiring, orienting, and supervision of all support staff. Schedules staff adequately ensuring coverage of the practice, maximizing patient access, and provider productivity. Implementation of “best practice models and standards”. Responsible for the annual development and monthly oversight of the practice operations budget. Liason between the medical and support staff, hospital departments, and administration.

Participates in annual mandatory in-service-Health Stream.

Maintains confidentiality of all patient, donor and employee information.

Assures that State Immunization Reports, User agreements, and Provider Contracts are submitted per guidelines.

Attends monthly Office Manager meetings and represents PPC sites on other hospital committees, outside committees, or community events.

Works with Medical Director, CMO, to develop best practice methods to optimize patient flow and operations.

Oversees building maintenance and safety.

Participated in quality control/performance improvement activities.

Observes safety rules/regulations/policies and procedures.

Observes Standard Protocols for Infection Control.

Provides ongoing supervision to support staff, promoting team work, excellence in job performance, and following the disciplinary procedures.

Works safely, follows and promotes all safety policies; reports incidents or hazards immediately.

Products annual evaluations with provider input.

Schedules regular staff meetings to discuss practice operations, ways to improve patient care, administrative policy, etc.

With input from Medical Director and staff, prepares the agenda. Oversees site portion for QA measures assuring that data is collected and submitted. Works with Clinical Best Practice/Medical Director.

Oversees staff schedules, reviews time sheets, approves all ETO and overtime.

Working with the Medical Director or VP of Physician Services, prepares annual expense budget.

Working with the Medical Director or VP of Physician Services, submits on an annual basis request for capitol equipment.

Monitors expenses to stay within budget.

Provides explanation for budget variances.

Shares financial information with Medical Director.

Proper use of BHMH property and equipment

Working with Human Resources on the recruitment or vacant, new positions.

Screens and interviews candidates for open positions.

Provides orientation and training for new staff.

Supports BHMH efforts in the community through volunteerism or education where appropriate.

* Associate’s Degree

Education equivalent experience:
* AS degree in business, or management and/or license or certification in a medical field such as nursing or medical assisting or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
