Metal Etching Workshop with Sarah Regan at Woodlawn
ELLSWORTH – Sarah Regan will teach a workshop titled “Metal Etching” on Saturday, September 7 from 9:30am -12:30pm in Woodlawn’s Sleigh Barn.
Students will learn the basics of working with sheet metal to create pieces with a raised image of their choice. A resist will be used to apply a design on copper, followed by a chemical to etch into the copper and brass. The pieces students create can be used for jewelry, or any number of other projects. The basics of cutting, filing, and shaping metal will also be taught. Sarah is the co-owner of Maine, Jewelry & Art in Bangor, Maine.
The cost is $55 for Woodlawn members and $65 for non-members. As space is limited, pre-registration is required through the calendar at woodlawnmuseum.org.
Woodlawn is an educational, cultural, and recreational treasure for the people of Downeast Maine. The main house is open for tours May 1 – October 31 and December 1-23.
