Yesterday’s Children, Inc. has been supporting people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 35 years. Our organization provides three different levels of service. Our mission is enriching and empowering people – our clients, their families, our staff, our community – to enhance their quality of life.
Birchwood Living Center provides 24-hour nursing care for up to 6 individuals with intellectual disabilities. Birchwood clients also receive supports that help them develop life skills and progress toward living as independently as possible.
Ida W. Lockhart Residence provides services for up to 6 individuals with intellectual disabilities with a focus on practical life activities for independent living, communications, socialization, physical development and self-care skills.
The Zilpha Booth Learning Center provides day habilitation services for individuals with intellectual disabilities, supporting clients in developing and maintaining skills related to activities of daily living, sensory stimulation, communication and being involved in their community.
The foundation of Yesterday’s Children, INC. is the belief that when people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are provided the care that meets their unique needs it enriches their lives and empowers them to participate in the world around them, which enhances quality of life not only for the people receiving care but also for the community in which they participate.
