About Hancock County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat was founded on the conviction that every man, woman, and child should have a simple, decent place to live in dignity and safety. Hancock County Habitat has been proudly serving the area since 1989.  Through private donations and volunteer labor, Habitat builds simple, decent homes in partnership with qualified individuals and families who assume an affordable mortgage on their home at completion. Hancock County Habitat for Humanity has an open-door policy. All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with our work and apply for housing. We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or sources of income.
