Greet patients in a welcoming and professional manner; provide information and guidance based on expressed needs and all available resources.
Assist in answering and screening phone calls in a professional, timely manner.
Participate in registering patients by gathering necessary demographic and insurance information from patient to build a new/updated patient account in the Electronic Medical Record.
Provide necessary forms to patients for completion and signatures while maintaining patient confidentiality with all patient information by adhering to all security and HIPAA guidelines.
Collect payments, insurance co-pays, and prescription charges while following all CMD financial policies. Perform various administrative duties such as photocopying forms, creating reports, faxing forms to employers, filing forms/charts and maintaining various logs of daily activities including patient count and financial transactions. Schedule specialist referrals as needed for patient follow-up Work with attention to detail in all tasks, navigating between multiple software systems to follow protocols established by our occupational health partners in support of our Employer Services team. Familiarity with scope of services provided at CMD and costs affiliated with all services Following all policies, guidelines and checklists supplied by management with the ability to maintain awareness of changes as they occur. Exemplify the mission and values of ConvenientMD in all interactions and communications. Participates in the training of new team members.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma is required.
Previous medical receptionist experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of how to use data processing software, personal computer, and other programs common to an office environment. Previous experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Basic knowledge of billing/coding and insurance information preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively learn new knowledge and skills.
Must be self-motivated to complete tasks and have the ability to multi-task. Flexible attitude and enthusiasm for positive change. Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
Must be able to work 12 hours shifts, weekends and holidays per CMD scheduling guidelines
