MDI Artist Jeanne Seronde Perkins to Offer Silk Painting Workshop at Woodlawn
Ellsworth – Explore silk painting with Mount Desert Island artist Jeanne Seronde Perkins on Saturday, July 7, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Woodlawn. Using lush fabric paints and water-based resist on thin white silk, participants will have a chance to play with colors making their own silk scarf or banner.
Jeanne has been making art on Mount Desert Island for over thirty years. She specializes in 2 & 3D collage, as well as silk painting. Her work is exhibited in Maine, as well as other states in the U.S. and abroad and is in over 100 private collections.
The cost is $80 for Woodlawn members and $90 for non-members and includes all materials. As space is limited, pre-registration is required through the calendar at woodlawnmuseum.org
Woodlawn is an educational, cultural, and recreational treasure for the people of Downeast Maine. The main house is open for tours May 1 – October 31 and December 1-23.
