Learn to Paint from Reference Photos with Linda Packard at Woodlawn
Ellsworth – Linda Packard will teach “Create Dynamic, Expressive Paintings from Reference Photos” on Friday, July 26 from 10:00am – 4:00pm in Woodlawn’s Sleigh Barn.
Through demos and one-on-one guidance, artist Linda Packard will teach students ways to find the most compelling elements in their photos and work them into a dynamic composition simplifying the reference image to its essence using color, shape, line; moving to expression rather than description. This class is for painters with some experience with his or her chosen medium. Focus is completely on composition, not painting technique. Demos will be in oil but all mediums are welcome. Solvents will be used.
The cost is $100 for Woodlawn members and $110 for non-members. A list of supplies to bring is available online and will be emailed to registered participants. As space is limited, pre-registration is required through the calendar at woodlawnmuseum.org.
