Leadership Hancock County Graduates 7th Class
Leadership Hancock County held its seventh graduation ceremony and celebration at Flexit Café the evening of Wednesday May 10th. Seventeen professionals from businesses and organizations around Hancock County participated in the five-month program that is a part of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. This brings the total alumni in the area to well over 100 participants.
Leadership Hancock County provides facilitated instruction in leadership topics such as communication styles, and effective management skills, while helping participants define a leadership path thru shared experiences and discussions. Each class takes place at a host business site around Hancock County that allows the class an in-depth look at an economic sector within the county, such as education, research and development, healthcare, manufacturing, tourism and more. It all provides a multifaceted learning approach where the participants learn from the facilitators, their classmates and their class site.
John Fitzpatrick, Senior Director for Facilities at Jackson Lab gave the Keynote address, giving multiple examples of leadership from politics to Jackson Lab to the Patriots football team. Student addresses were given by Danielle Ruddy-Chatto and Amanda Look. The Sparks Award, an alumni leadership award given yearly was presented to Rachel Nobel class of 2012.
