Leadership Hancock County 2017 Host Sites Announced

Leadership Hancock County, the Chamber’s popular leadership development program has announced the host site locations for the 2017 classes. LHC, a program modeled after other leadership programs around the state as well as Leadership Maine, offers facilitated sessions in leadership topics as well as an in depth look at some of the businesses and economic drivers of Hancock County.  Each individual class takes place at a “host” business or organization for the day providing participants with a presentation and often a tour of their business as part of the program day.

The 2017 program will visit the Hancock County Technical School in Ellsworth, Maine Sea Coast Vegetables, in Hancock, Opera House Arts in Stonington, MDI Bio Lab in Salisbury Cove, Witham Family Properties, and the Northeast Harbor Neighborhood House. Each year’s host site locations are picked based on the counties economic sectors including Government, Education, Health Care, Manufacturing, Tourism, the Arts, Research and Development and Non-Profits. Over the past seven program years 30 plus businesses and organizations have hosted a class of Leadership Hancock County.

Applications for the 2017 program are available on the Chamber Website under programs at .  Application deadline is December 9 with the program starting in January of 2017.  Application process is competitive and space is limited to 16 participants.

To date Leadership Hancock County has graduated over 90 professionals from its leadership program.
