Be Informed with the Ellsworth Area Chamber
One of the best reasons to be a member of a local chamber of commerce is the opportunities to get information and programming from topic experts, to assist you and your business, with employment, training, and education at little or no cost and close to home.
The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a variety of forums in the next six weeks to get you and your business and staff informed, trained and educated. We hope many of you can take part in one or all of these programs.
March 9th Eaton Peabody attorneys will present a Lunch and Learn forum on Cybersecurity. We have all heard stories related to personal privacy issues, data collection and the intersection of our phones, laptops and work devices. Come learn how this affects you and your personal and business information. The lunch will be at the Moore Center Auditorium on State Street in Ellsworth. There will be a $5.00 reservation fee for the light lunch that will be served.
March 21st an early morning seminar on Substance Abuse and Drug Testing in the Workplace hosted by Rudman Winchell Counselors at Law. Information on drug testing, medical marijuana, pre-employment screenings and privacy issues will be discussed. The seminar will take place at City Hall Auditorium from 8-9:30am include a complimentary continental breakfast. Reservations can be made thru the chamber.
March 22 thru April 12 the Chamber in partnership with Ellsworth Adult Education is presenting a four-week workshop called “Making the Best First Impression”. Each session will focus on an area of customer service. Participants can attend all four sessions or pick and choose the dates and topics that work for their business. We all know great customer service is something we all want but often don’t know the best ways to improve on consistently in our businesses. Registration is thru the Ellsworth Adult Education office on line at www.ellsworth.maineadulted.org or call 667-7110. Trainers for each workshop are employers with successful customer service backgrounds and businesses. Cost is $25 for four sessions. Scholarship funds are available.
April 6, the Ellsworth Chamber will be hosting its first Membership Breakfast of 2017 at Big Cats Event Center in Trenton, sponsored by Bangor International Airport. Key note speakers will be from Maine Department of Transportation filling us in on the large Route 3 reconstruction taking place in and around Bar Harbor. Traffic affects all our businesses, communities and personal lives, especially during the summer season. Come hear project manager Rhobe Moulton and Carmen Forzetting, public relations at MDOT, give information on what you can expect in the months ahead with this project.
Reservations are $10 for the buffet breakfast starting at 7:30. The presentation will begin at 8am. RSVP and payment can be made by calling the chamber at 667-5584
