Ellsworth – When your out-of-town guests arrive for the holidays, treat them to Holiday High Tea and an enchanting tour of the festively decorated Black House. Offered as part of the Christmas at Woodlawn celebration, this memorable afternoon is sure to become an annual tradition. Holiday High Tea will be served promptly at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, December 5, 7, 12, 14,19, 21 at 3 p.m. Reservations for High Tea are required and can be made at woodlawnmuseum.org. The Black House is open for tours daily, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from December 1 to 23.
Woodlawn’s Holiday High Tea is catered by Flexit Café & Bakery in Ellsworth. According to Woodlawn’s executive director Joshua Torrance, “Coming for tea is a great way to celebrate the season with family, friends, staff and co-workers. Flexit has created a tempting menu with assorted finger sandwiches and sweets that are served alongside Woodlawn’s special holiday tea blend.” The 2018 menu can be seen online at woodlawnmuseum.org
The cost for the high tea is $22 for Woodlawn members and $25 for non-members and includes a leisurely stroll through the festively decorated Black House. Details, ticket purchasing, and the tea menu are available now at woodlawnmuseum.org. Space is limited and tickets sell quickly.
Woodlawn is an educational, cultural, and recreational treasure for the people of Downeast Maine. The main house is open for tours May 1 – October 31 and December 1-23.
