Heart of Ellsworth Receives Grant for Marketing
Ellsworth – The Heart of Ellsworth has received a $5,000 grant from the Hancock County Fund of the Maine Community Foundation to bring more visibility and understanding of the revitalization effort in downtown Ellsworth.
“This grant will assist the Heart of Ellsworth to be more visible in the community through the implementation of a marketing plan that includes both print and web media.” says Cara Romano, Executive Director.
In spring of 2016, the Downtown Ellsworth Association, a volunteer association of Ellsworth businesses, re-organized as Heart of Ellsworth to revitalize Ellsworth’s downtown by bringing together community partners to host arts and cultural events, support local businesses, and promote civic engagement.
Initial financial support was provided by the City of Ellsworth, and Maine Community Foundation. In 2017, H of E became a 501(c)(3) and hired Executive Director Cara Romano in 2016. H of E has an active 12-member board of directors. Since 2017, H of E hosted more than ten community-wide cultural events and 14 public discussion forums.
With offices in Ellsworth and Portland, the Maine Community Foundation works with donors and other partners to improve the quality of life for all Maine people. To learn more about the foundation, visit www.mainecf.org.
