Heart of Ellsworth Celebrates its Third Holiday Marketplace with Community Holiday Party and Annual Meeting
Ellsworth – Heart of Ellsworth will celebrate its third Holiday Marketplace with a Community Holiday Party and Annual Meeting on Thursday, December 6 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The event will be held in the former J B Atlantic building on 142 Main Street in downtown Ellsworth. Come and meet the shop owners, get a start on your gift list and enjoy light refreshments and while socializing with friends. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
This year’s Holiday Marketplace opened on Friday, November 16 with eight businesses displaying their wares. Heart of Ellsworth executive director, Cara Romano shared her enthusiasm for this year’s line-up, “Shoppers will be delighted with the diversity of this year’s Marketplace. We have brought in West & Wass from Beals Island, Leaf & Anna, from Brooklin, Three Wishes, from Blue Hill, Maven Leather from Cherryfield, Sea Crow Company from Hancock, With Love Designs and Mote Designs from Ellsworth and Bill Sanborn Woodworking from Mount Desert Island. Our onsite cafe will have tasty selections from Indulge Cakes & Cakery and Flexit Cafe and Bakery”
Romano shared her Board members hearty thank you’s to the JB Atlantic building owners, Jon Hutchins and Bill Sanborn for partnering with Heart of Ellsworth to house the Holiday Marketplace in downtown Ellsworth. Community member Peter Lione who has so brilliantly transformed the space into a festive shopping experience making downtown a festive attraction during the holiday season.
Community members are encouraged to stop by and visit the marketplace, have your photo taken under the historic J.J. Newberry Co. sign, shop local for your holiday gifts, and partake in an authentic downtown community event.
The market will be open through Saturday, December 29 with the following hours: Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. – 7 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22) Fridays and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. For ongoing updates and information on the Holiday Marketplace, visit Heart of Ellsworth’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
