Heart of Ellsworth to host Public Forum
Ellsworth – Gibson Financial Solutions, this year’s Public Forum sponsor and Heart of Ellsworth are pleased to announce the October Public Forum. On October 11th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Riverview Room in the Ellsworth Public Library, free and open to the public.
To help kick off Art of Ellsworth: Maine Craft Weekend, award-winning writer Carl Little will speak about Ellsworth’s Creative Economy highlighting some of the ways our fair city embraces the creative, it’s part of Ellsworth’s DNA. From the new Jackson Lab facility to a pair of jeweler Emily Shaffer’s double basket earrings, creative enterprises abound. Little will offer a personal tour of the city’s creative side punctuating the evening Little promises to read one of his Ellsworth Poems. Little is the author of more than 25 art books, including Paintings of Maine and The Art of Maine in Winter. He has written books on John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Dahlov Ipcar, Beverly Hallam, Francis Hamabe, Joel Babb, William Irvine, Jeffery Becton, Wendy Turner, and, most recently, Philip Barter.
