Heart of Ellsworth to host Logo Launch Party
Heart of Ellsworth is pleased to announce the launch of their new logo on June 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Grand. The party is free and open to the public.
The community is invited to celebrate Heart of Ellsworth’s first birthday with a reception and short presentation. Speakers include Nick Turner, director of The Grand, Gretchen Wilson, executive director of Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, and Cara Romano, executive director of the Heart of Ellsworth.
For the past year, Heart of Ellsworth has evolved into an organization serving businesses, nonprofits, community and civic groups, local government, and residents of downtown Ellsworth.
“The model of a downtown merchants association limited what we could do. While it worked for many years, we can do more by leveraging everyone who has a stake in the success of downtown Ellsworth. By transitioning to a nonprofit that is more inclusive and flexible, we can be more effective in promoting our downtown,” says Cara Romano, Heart of Ellsworth’s executive director.
In the past year, Heart of Ellsworth took the legal steps to formally switch from a 501(c)(6) status, typically for business leagues and chambers of commerce, to the broader 501(c)(3) status reserves for nonprofits and charitable organizations.
“I’m excited to honor where we’ve been and celebrate what’s to come. I’m so proud of where Ellsworth is heading,” says Beth Fendel, Heart of Ellsworth board president and manager of Finn’s Irish Pub.
The mission of Heart of Ellsworth it to promote economic, artistic, cultural, educational, historical and environmental activities in the “Downtown” area to provide a vibrant community for all residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations and local government.
