Heart of Ellsworth to host Ellsworth Green Drinks
Heart of Ellsworth is thrilled to announce their Green Drinks Committee will hold the next event on Wednesday, March 28th at 5:30pm at the Pickled Wrinkle in Gouldsboro, naming the beneficiary of the evening, Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park.
Green Drinks is an international informal networking event where environmental and social-minded people meet over drinks at a bar, restaurant, nonprofit or community gathering place. These events are open to the general public, intended to drive connectivity, community, collaboration, and change within the environmental and social sector of a community. Ellsworth has joined the ranks of six other Maine cities becoming a Green Drinks community in fall of 2017.
The Pickled Wrinkle, located in Birch Harbor just outside the exit of the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park, is a friendly local establishment where you can experience real Downeast Maine folks and food. “Everyone in the area has a great relationship with Schoodic Institute, community members use the facility and participate in the organization events ” said Sarah Christensen, owner of The Pickled Wrinkle . “We (Pickled Wrinkle) fundraise as often as possible, so when Heart of Ellsworth approached us to be the next Green Drinks location we said yes! This type of event is in line with our company’s mission -leaving as little environmental footprint behind as possible.”
Schoodic Institute is an independent nonprofit organization committed to advancing ecosystem science and learning for all ages through a unique partnership with Acadia National Park. The Institute leads workshops, symposiums and other events on conservation leadership; forest ecology; bird ecology; coastal and marine ecology; community citizen science; science communication; and connects people to nature through art – all with the support of strategic partnerships.
An entrance fee of $8 will be charged, but if you bring your own drinking vessel the cost is reduced to $5.
“Heart of Ellsworth promotes artistic, cultural, economic, educational, environmental and historical activities in the “downtown” area to promote a vibrant community for all.”
