Healthy Acadia Offers Tips for Eating Better on a Budget

Healthy Acadia is excited to offer, “10 Tips – Eating Better on a Budget” sessions in Blue Hill beginning in October 2017. This free workshop series is designed to empower adults who are experiencing a limited budget with the skills, knowledge and confidence to make healthy and affordable choices.  Participants will learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them in ways that taste great and provide the best nourishment possible for their families.

Classes meet for one hour each week for four weeks. Each session will feature a food demonstration with opportunities for hands-on cooking, as well as recipes for participants to take home. Join Healthy Acadia Nutrition Education Coordinator Emily Herwerden in the Howard Room of Blue Hill Public Library (5 Parker Point Road) on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 10:30am beginning October 3 and continuing through October 24.  Classes are free, however, pre-registration is required.  Contact Emily at 667-7171 or email Emily@HealthyAcadia.org to register.
