The Grand Holds Auditions for a musical version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
ELLSWORTH- The Grand is excited to announce auditions on Saturday October 21st (from 9:00am – 1:00pm) for its production on the Stanley Subaru Stage of the world premiere of Executive Director Nick Turner’s musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The production runs December 15 through December 23, 2017.
“Marley was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. ” With such simple words, one of the best-known holiday stories ever written begins. And now, firmly in the tradition of such Grand productions as its smash hits Monty Python’s Spamalot, Disney’s Mary Poppins, Aaron Sorkin’s The Farnsworth Invention, Mel Brooks’ The Producers, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None and Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, Executive Director Nick Turner’s musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol invites local talent to perform in a great, original musical production. The production team includes Grand staff Nick Turner (Director/Adapter), Kimberly Fitch (Production Manager), Garrett Harris (Graphic Design,) and Peter Miller (Tech Director). This live presentation of one of the greatest tales of the holidays gives local performers the opportunity to play one of the many famous characters in this iconic story of the what it truly to means to keep a spirit of giving in your heart; roles are available for both the young and the young at heart! Auditions will be held at The Grand on the Stanley Subaru stage- those interested in auditioning are encouraged to sign up for a five minute spot in a 30 minute slot at https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/508054aa4a62da6f49-agrand. All those auditioning will be asked to prepare 16-32 bars in the musical theatre genre and bring marked piano music for the accompanist in the correct key.
