Gay Paratore to Teach Basic Watercolors at Woodlawn
Ellsworth – Woodlawn is pleased to welcome back artist Gay Paratore for a two-day Basic Watercolors class on Friday, August 24 and Saturday, August 25. The class will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both days.
Students will have fun learning how to paint beautiful clouds and sunsets and easy ways to make rocks, grass, and trees. Secrets to painting colors that are clean and glowing and how to paint water and reflections in water will be taught. All will be done in a series of exercises; many will be tiny paintings. Once students are comfortable with the basics, they will move to larger one or two full sheet (11” X 15”) paintings.
Paratore teaches all media of art and all ages. She founded the National Society of Artists in 1985 and has won numerous Best of Show and 1st Place Awards. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the National Society of Artists, Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and the Texas Watercolor Society.
The cost is $140 for Woodlawn members and $150 for non-members. A list of supplies will be emailed to registered participants. As space is limited, pre-registration is required through the calendar at woodlawnmuseum.org.
