Dairy Queen in Ellsworth Hosts Grand Opening Event
ELLSWORTH – The Dairy Queen® system is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of the Ellsworth DQ Grill & Chill® restaurant located at 265 High Street. This location is one of the newest additions to the Dairy Queen restaurant family which includes more than 6,700 restaurants world-wide. We are committed to offering every DQ® fan a place where they can relax and share a great meal with our one-of-a-kind soft-serve treats.
The 2,600 square-foot DQ Grill & Chill restaurant can seat 72 Fans in the dining room, 20 Fans outside on the patio and offers a convenient drive-thru window. The Ellsworth DQ Grill & Chill restaurant has added fifty-five new jobs, contributing to Ellsworth’s employment growth.
The new DQ Grill & Chill was developed and built by local franchisees, Christopher and Thomas Thorne, who currently own and operate Treat Stores in Brewer and Waterville.
“We were excited to open a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Ellsworth and welcome the community in to enjoy our full menu of craveable food items, signature and innovative treats, our new DQ Bakes!® menu and Orange Julius® Premium Fruit Smoothies” said restaurant operator Chris Thorne.
The menu at the Ellsworth DQ Grill & Chill offers a range of food options for DQ® fans, including the iconic $5 Buck Lunch. Top featured items include the Bacon Cheese and FlameThrower (if you like spice) GrillBurgers, chili cheese dog, onion rings and our iconic DQ cheese curds.
In addition to the Fan Approved food, we are always serving up our famous Blizzard Treats including classics such as Oreo and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Plus some new featured blizzards from our summer blizzard menu like Summer Berry Cheesecake, Cotton Candy, Caramel Cannonball and S’mores!
“It was a long process to bring Dairy Queen back to Ellsworth”, says Chris Thorne. “Since we opened on New Year’s Eve, the Ellsworth Community has welcomed us with open arms. Dairy Queen is a franchise, but the Ellsworth location is locally owned and operated by the residents.”
On Saturday, June 1st, Ellsworth DQ Grill & Chill is having a Grand Opening celebration. There will be plenty of giveaways and deals such deals such as $1 Small Cones, $1 Single Burgers and $2 Mini Blizzards. There will also be raffles all week, with proceeds going to the Community Closet, to win a Blizzard or GrillBurger for an entire year! 50% of all DQ Cakes sold on June 1st will also go to the Community Closet – visit DQCakes.com. We will have fun stuff for the kids to enjoy and they can even meet Blizzard Man.
We are so excited to use our Grand Opening as a way to support the local community. The Community Closet has become a beacon of help in Ellsworth and surrounding towns. We chose them as the non-profit for us to support because of all they do. Community Closet is the epitome of community support. We hope that everyone comes out to help us celebrate our Grand Opening and to help support this amazing organization.
Welcome to the Community Closet. A place where neighbors help neighbors. When you come to the Community Closet, your first 10 items of clothes and shoes are always by donation. After that they are just $1.00 each. (And many days we run sales that make them even cheaper than that.) Our goal is to never have anyone go without.
We always accept monetary donations and donations of items. Kids clothes, adult clothes, household items, baby furniture, and more. We work closely with other amazing non-profits in the area to help meet all of the needs of those in our community.
When someone loses everything in a fire or has left their home due to domestic violence, is homeless, or a child who has been taken out of a dangerous home and sent to live with foster families, We provide the items they need at no cost and no limits!
To all of those in our community and those surrounding it who just need a little help getting by, we feel no one should ever have to choose between clothes and food, so being able to get those items of clothing at little to no cost, makes a difference! That’s where we come in. Our
goal is to make enough money to keep our bills paid: the rent paid so the doors stay open, electric on, trash emptied, and heat running! We are not here to make a profit. 100 percent of our staff is made up of volunteers. We just want to keep the place running and our community
taken care of.
And our store isn’t just for those in need. Due to the amazing donations of items by those in our community, we have a great deal of items in our store and more ready to go out. We welcome anyone who enjoys shopping second hand, because honestly, why spend more and waste money, when the clothing we have is amazing. Those who can afford to leave a donation,
help to pay the bills and keep the doors open to those who NEED to shop with us. This is why we are a store open to EVERYONE!!! It truly is neighbors helping neighbors. The way the world should be!
