Criterion Hosts a Community “Cover Call-Out” of Lori McKenna’s Hit Song
Bar Harbor- The Criterion Theatre invites all community members to participate in a “Cover Call-Out” in preparation for Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Lori McKenna’s performance on Friday, July 14 at 8 p.m.
Community members of any age or musical skill level can send in a video of them singing a full or partial cover of Lori McKenna’s song “Humble and Kind”, made famous by Tim McGraw.
“The Criterion is very fortunate to have Lori McKenna playing our stage. She has written for some of the biggest names in country music and ‘Humble and Kind’ has a particularly beautiful message,” said Kristin Leffler, Media Manager at the Criterion. “This Cover Call-Out is an opportunity for the community to come together and engage with her lyrics and song in a deeper way.”
Those who would like to participate can post videos of their covers on Facebook tagging Criterion Theatre, or they can email clips to [email protected] by Thursday, July 13 at 10 a.m. If enough submissions are received, a compilation video from the community will be put together for McKenna.
“We want this to, in a way, be a showcase of our wonderful area,” Leffler adds. “If singing intimidates you, just say your favorite line and we’ll find a way to fit it in!”
The best cover submission will win a pair of free tickets to McKenna’s performance. Tickets are still available for purchase at criteriontheatre.org. They range from $20 to $25 depending on section. Box office will open at 7 p.m on Friday, July 14 and the show begins at 8 p.m.
