Colored Pencil Drawing Techniques Class at Woodlawn
Elsworth – Woodlawn is pleased to present Colored Pencil Drawing Techniques on Monday, July 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This class welcomes back artist John DelMastro, who will focus on the technique of blending soft color pencils together to create an almost “paint like” feel on the page. This method has nothing to do with using watercolor pencils or adding any liquid substance to the medium nor is it working with pastels or charcoal. The class is designed to teach you how to draw out color from a pencil through a series of practical exercises. You will be sketching very simple objects, and learning how to add dark and light values as well as bring out texture with colored pencils. All skill levels are welcome. A list of materials will be provided upon registration or by visiting the July 24 listing on the calendar of events at www.woodlawnmuseum.org.
The cost for the class is $45 for Woodlawn members/$55 for non-members. This class fills quickly and space is limited. Pre-registration is required and can be done online at woodlawnmuseum.org. If your schedule is not open for the July 24 class, DelMastro will offer the class again on Monday, August 28.
