BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet At The 1932 Criterion Theatre
Bar Harbor—Cajun sextet BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet will take the Criterion stage on Sunday, August 27th at 8 p.m, with opening act Sylvain’s Acadian Aces.
For the past 42 years, BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet has been making some of the most potent and popular Cajun music on the planet. Born out of the rich Acadian ancestry of its members, and created and driven by bandleader Michael Doucet’s spellbinding fiddle playing and soulful vocals, BeauSoleil will no doubt bring you to your feet. Opening for BeauSoleil is Sylvain’s Acadian Aces, and they too will get you moving with their raw, energetic Cajun music rooted in the tradition of “old Acadie”.
BeauSoleil has captivated listeners from New Orleans to Carnegie Hall, all the way across the pond to Richard Thompson’s Meltdown Festival in England, and now they will be bringing their French-Cajun flair to Bar Harbor, Maine.
General seating is $20 per ticket. Front-and-center orchestra is $25 and balcony seats are $30. All tickets can be purchased online at criteriontheatre.org or at the theater one hour before the show.
The 1932 Criterion Theatre is Bar Harbor’s non-profit historic performing arts and movie house. For a full schedule of live events, please visit criteriontheatre.org.
