Announcing New Score Chapter Chairperson
The local SCORE chapter, Downeast Maine SCORE is pleased to announce the installment of Mr. Jeffrey Lovit as the Chapter Chairperson. Downeast Maine SCORE serves both Hancock and Washington Counties. Jeffrey retired from his private law practice in Milbridge in 2016, after serving citizens of Maine for over 40 years. During his years of practice, Jeffrey represented many small businesses. Mr. Lovit is an avid cyclist and enjoys touring, most recently venturing to Labrador with his wife to brave the incessant winds.
SCORE is a non-profit sub-element of the US Small Business Administration. SCORE volunteer mentors bring many years of experience, including small business start-ups, marketing, employee recruitment and retention, commercial finance issues, project management and more. Currently, over 10,000 volunteers serve clients nationwide, while 127 of these serve Maine residents, with 13 presently mentoring citizens of Hancock and Washington Counties. In addition to private mentoring, SCORE mentors also host/present local workshops on a variety of pertinent topics.
Downeast Maine SCORE will be presenting an Internet Marketing Workshop on October 18th, and a Crowdfunding Workshop on November 8th. These workshops are open to the public, and the fees are $10 per workshop. A Quickbooks ‘101’ workshop will be planned for January 2019, with more intensive Quickbooks workshops to br offered the following months. SCORE is always seeking experienced mentors, here in Maine and throughout the U.S.
