2019 Fall Grief Support Groups
Ellsworth – At each change of season there are new reminders of loved ones lost and past times shared. As we head toward fall here in Maine individuals may experience grief related to the loss of a loved one, which can create emptiness and difficulty enjoying the opportunities of the season. Providing a safe space to acknowledge those feelings and receive support for moving through them, Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County announces the 2019 Fall Grief Support Group series.
We are trying something different this season. Support groups are being offered to include specifically-focused groups and facilitators for the groups are ready to go, but we are inviting interested members to register in advance, and meeting times will be established based on participants’ availability.
Grief Support Groups to be offered this fall include: Widows, Widowers and Partners; Those Who are Grieving the Loss of a Loved One to Drug Overdose; Parents and Grandparents who are Grieving the Loss of a Child (of any age). Also being offered is an Aging and Loss Workshop, which has specific times already established: Monday, October 14 – November 18, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the YWCA in Bar Harbor.
All groups are free of charge and require pre-registration.
For more information or to register for any of these groups, please call the Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County office at 667-2531.
