15th Annual Beth C. Wright Ride For Life Registration Open
Choose from 8, 20, 50- or 100-mile rides on the Blue Hill Peninsula
Surry—It’s that time of year again when area bicycle enthusiasts come together and gear up for their favorite ride along the beautiful Blue Hill Peninsula. For the past fourteen years, bicyclists from all across the state and beyond have come together to take part in the Beth C. Wright Ride For Life, to support and raise money for the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center.
On Saturday, September 7, 2019 the 15th Annual Beth C. Wright Ride For Life will take place at the Surry Elementary School located at 754 North Bend Rd in Surry. Riders can choose from an 8-mile, 20-mile, 50-mile or 100-mile ride, which all offer breathtaking views on Newbury Neck and the Blue Hill Peninsula. All rides will begin at the Surry Elementary School except for the 8-mile ride, which will begin and end at Newbury Neck beach.
Ride organizers are encouraging all riders to raise a minimum of $150.00 to help ensure reaching this year’s goal of $25,000.00. Each rider that meets that goal and registers by August 23, will receive a Beth C. Wright Ride For Life t-shirt, and a fresh Maine Lobster roll. Riders that raise $500.00 or more will receive a new Yeti Tumbler in addition to the other items.
After the ride, all riders will be celebrated for their dedication and generosity to this annual effort with a complimentary lunch with grilled offerings, salads, watermelon, cold drinks and a fresh Maine lobster roll, for qualified riders, music and conversation with fellow participants and ride organizers.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Beth C. Wright Resource Center at 23 Commerce Park in Ellsworth. The funds will assist the Center to continue their mission to offer hope, knowledge and support to cancer patients, their families, caregivers, and friends by providing a source of information, social services and compassion through all stages of the cancer journey.
