In the age of the Internet, Blackberrys and the iphone some question why a print version of a guidebook?  What we know is that even those traveling fully equipped electronically, like to have a  Maine’s Best Regional Guide in their hand.  While one person does the driving, passengers are looking through the colorful pages, gathering ideas of things to do, see and buy. 

The 1^st Made in Maine Market Saturday, June 19th was a great success. This one day show, an exciting new event for the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce drew more than 600 visitors and featured 30 vendors from all over the state last Saturday, under the tent at the Mill Mall in Ellsworth.

At the first of the year (2010) when it was cold in Maine the EACC staff teamed up with one of its members SummerFly, a local videography company. Using the upbeat music “Down” by Jay Sean they created the “Get Down with Ellsworth Area Businesses” video for the chamber’s annual meeting on May 6.  According to Phyllis Young, Associate Director, “We know that many people here love their jobs and the people they work with.  This upbeat video reminds us of how great this place is to live and work.  The days we spent filming the video were probably some of the most rewarding (and funniest) I have had on the job.”
